Privacy Policy — Preorder Payments

At The Salo Spread, your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information across our two-step preorder process: (1) submitting your order request via Google Forms, and (2) completing payment via a Helcim invoice sent to your email. We collect the minimum information needed, we never store your payment or card data, and we work only with trusted, security-certified platforms.
By submitting an order request or completing payment, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
The Salo Spread is a small Filipino food business based in Gilroy, California, specializing in authentic Kapampangan cuisine and desserts. Preorders are collected through a Google Form and invoiced for payment through Helcim, a third-party payment gateway. We are the merchant; Google and Helcim are third-party service providers.
2. How Our Preorder Process Works
Our preorder process has two steps:
Step 1 — Order Request (Google Forms)
You submit your order details through our Pre-Order Request Form. No payment is collected at this stage. The form is hosted by Google.
Step 2 — Invoice & Payment (Helcim)
After reviewing your order, we send you a payment invoice via Helcim to the email address you provided. You complete payment securely through Helcim's platform. Invoices must be paid within 24 hours of receipt; unpaid invoices result in an incomplete preorder.
3. Information We Collect
Through the Google Form (Step 1):
When you submit a preorder request, we collect:

Name — to identify your order

Email address (required) — to send your Helcim invoice and order communications

Phone number (optional) — for last-minute order updates via text or call

Pick-up location — Gilroy (Thu–Sat) or San Jose (Fri only)

Pick-up date — your requested Thursday, Friday, or Saturday

Food and dessert selections — from The Salo Kits & Selections and The Salo Sweets menu

Questions or comments — any special requests or notes (optional)
Through Helcim (Step 2):
When you pay your invoice, all payment information is collected and processed directly by Helcim. This includes your credit or debit card details, billing information, and transaction records. The Salo Spread does not receive, see, or store any of this payment data.
4. Google Forms & Google's Privacy Practices
Our order request form is hosted by Google LLC via Google Forms. By submitting the form, your responses are stored in Google's infrastructure and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Google may collect additional technical data (such as IP address or browser type) as part of their standard platform operations. We encourage you to review Google's privacy documentation for full details.
We access your form responses through our Google account solely for the purpose of preparing and sending your Helcim invoice.
5. Third-Party Payment Processing (Helcim)
All payment processing — including the collection, transmission, and storage of credit card numbers, CVV codes, and billing addresses — is handled exclusively by Helcim Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateway (the highest level of payment security compliance).

By completing payment through our Helcim invoice, you are also subject to Helcim's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We encourage you to review those documents before completing your payment.
6. What We Do Not Store
The Salo Spread does not collect, store, or have access to:

Full credit or debit card numbers

Bank account or routing numbers

Billing addresses submitted during payment

Any raw financial or payment card data
This data goes directly to Helcim's secure infrastructure and never passes through or is retained by The Salo Spread.
7. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect through the Google Form is used strictly for:

Order preparation — to review your selections and prepare your preorder

Invoicing — to generate and send your Helcim payment invoice to your email

Order communication — to contact you about pickup details, order updates, or any changes (via email or phone/text if provided)

Legal and tax recordkeeping — to maintain required transaction records in compliance with applicable federal and California state laws
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. Data Retention
We retain your order information (name, email, phone if provided, selections, and pickup details) only for as long as needed to fulfill your order and meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not maintain ongoing customer profiles or marketing lists.
Google retains form responses per its own data retention practices. Helcim retains payment records per its own policies — see the Helcim Privacy Policy for details.
9. Your Privacy Rights
As a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what information we hold about you, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of your data (we do not sell data).
